How Sentinel Works

Sentinel is CloudEdging's recommendation engine. It looks at your real Cloudflare configuration, your real traffic patterns, and your real billing data together, and produces two kinds of recommendations.

Configuration recommendations

If you're already on Cloudflare, Sentinel checks whether your current plan includes capabilities you're not using yet — things that solve a real, observable need based on your actual traffic (not a generic upsell). For example, if your traffic shows recurring extreme spikes and your current plan doesn't include Cloudflare's Waiting Room feature, you'll see that surfaced with the specific evidence behind it.

Every configuration recommendation is framed honestly: if something would help but isn't strictly necessary, Sentinel says so, rather than manufacturing urgency.

Redundant spend detection

If your billing data shows you're paying for a service — a WAF, a message queue, object storage, and others — that a Cloudflare capability already genuinely covers, Sentinel surfaces that as a recommendation, along with real, calculated savings where pricing data supports it.

Every match has been individually reviewed for genuine substitutability first — Sentinel doesn't recommend a Cloudflare product just because it sounds similar to what you're already paying for. If a Cloudflare capability only partially covers what you're using elsewhere, that caveat is shown directly in the recommendation, not hidden.

If you run infrastructure across multiple cloud providers at once, Sentinel handles that correctly — recommendations for each provider are independent, so a new bill from one provider never overwrites still-valid recommendations from another.

What Sentinel doesn't do (yet)

Sentinel currently focuses on configuration and cross-provider price comparison. Recommending a full migration of your infrastructure between providers is a much higher-stakes decision, and isn't something Sentinel does today.

Every recommendation includes the reasoning and evidence behind it. You choose what to request or act on — nothing is applied automatically.
